Quality Education—Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4)—emphasizes the importance of inclusive, equitable, and lifelong learning opportunities for all. Aligned with this vision, the North Eastern Centre for Education undertakes a wide range of educational initiatives. These include early childhood care and development (ECCE/ECD), research and curriculum development, bridge education for out-of-school children, girls’ education, remedial learning, and efforts to reintegrate child labourers into the schooling system. The Centre also promotes holistic education by integrating sports, life skills, special education for children with disabilities, and technological innovations. Programs like adult literacy classes, STEM coaching, computer education, and vocational and technical training are offered to enhance lifelong learning and employability.

To strengthen the education ecosystem, the Centre supports school management committees (SMCs), provides scholarships, and aids both government schools and students enrolled in private institutions under the RTE 25 per cent quota. Teachers’ training and advocacy for the Right to Education (RTE) further amplify its impact. Additionally, it raises awareness on financial literacy, road safety, consumer rights, and sustainable consumption. The Centre also establishes and runs a variety of educational institutions and centers—ranging from formal schools and KGBVs to non-formal and alternative education centers, ashramshalas, education resource centers (ERCs), mobile education units, community libraries, and digital libraries—ensuring education reaches the most remote and underserved populations.

By safeguarding the rights of children, nurturing their growth, and ensuring their education and well-being, the North Eastern Centre for Education lays the foundation for a just, compassionate, and sustainable future—where no child is left behind.
